Hi! I'm Erle Craven.... For more than forty years, I've been lucky enough to do what I love—telling stories with a camera. I started behind a traditional film camera in commercial photography and videography and spent time teaching photography at two universities. These days I've traded climbing a ladder for a drone (it's a lot safer), creating fine art aerial photography, cinematic videography, and ultra-high-resolution panoramic printworks through DroneTogs.

Based in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad, I serve clients in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and Greensboro, North Carolina, and support clients in South Carolina and Virginia.

What is fine art drone photography? Anyone can buy a drone. Very few people bring decades of commercial photography and videography experience, fine art education and vision, FAA certification, $1 million in liability insurance, and broadcast-grade cinema equipment to every flight. That's the DroneTogs difference.

My drone photography and cinematography are a unique product; they're ART, and they're made without using AI. Creating your image can take up to two weeks or more. The steps are very similar to commissioning fine art studio work. 1. Composition: How will the shot be composed? What is the feel you want to accomplish? I accomplish this using classical techniques like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and negative space. 2. Lighting and Background: Are you interested in sunrise or sunset, night or twilight? What cloud cover do you desire? This process can take days or weeks to get the lighting, background, and cloud conditions perfect. 3. Post-production: I have over 30 years of experience using the most powerful editing tools and hardware. We use the most advanced color calibration systems/hardware, so your output is advertising-agency quality and can be printed as large museum-quality prints.
